For committees that meet on a Tuesday night, after work
The treasurer has a day job, the secretary took over because nobody else would, and half of what the committee knows lives in one person's inbox. Subs get chased at training, the canteen roster is a photo of a whiteboard, and the fundraiser total is whatever someone last said in the group chat.
A working week, in pages
Subs night
The treasurer is at the gate with a clipboard, trying to remember who paid last season. Put the membership levels on one page and send it round. Members join in a tap, and Stripe bills them each year until they cancel.
membership Riverside Rowing Club: adult $180 a year, junior $90 a year, social $40 a year
Who's on canteen?
The same three parents turn up every Saturday, and everyone else assumes someone has it covered. Post each shift as a sign-up with its number of spots. Members can see who's still needed, and the page closes itself once the shift is full.
signup canteen duty Saturday 8am to noon at the home ground, 4 spots, free, bring a hat
The bus leaves at seven
You're at the car park with a pile of paper forms, two missing and one with the wrong phone number. Parents can read the trip details, tick the medical questions, give an emergency contact and sign from their phones the week before. Check what your league or insurer also asks for.
consent form for under-14s trip to Ashford on May 8, $25 bus fare, medical notes, emergency contact, photo permission
Hoodie orders
Last year's order was a spreadsheet of sizes, cash in envelopes and three people who swear they paid. List each size as its own item, and parents choose and pay on the page. Pause it on the closing date and your replies give you the count for the printer.
order form for club hoodies: kids small $38, kids large $38, adult medium $45, adult large $45, pickup at training
The roof fund
The bake sale raised some, the quiz night raised some, and nobody can say how far off the target you are. A live bar shows the running total and dated updates, and with gift amounts added, people can give from the same page. Put its QR code on the clubhouse door, next to the bucket.
progress clubhouse roof fund, goal $20,000, raised $8,620, gifts of $10, $25 and $100, quiz night added $840
Numbers for the caterer
The caterer wants a head count and dietary needs by Friday, and you have nine maybes in the group chat. Send the presentation night as an invitation, with yes or no, how many are coming and any dietary needs. Replies reach you one at a time and the count adds up by itself.
rsvp end of season dinner Nov 21 6:30pm at the clubhouse, $30 a head on the door, ask dietary, reply by Nov 14
Questions
Can our page say donations are tax-deductible?
Only if you've checked it's true for you. That depends on your organisation's status and on where the donor is, and the page says just what you write on it. A thank-you on a donation page is not a tax receipt.
Whose account does the money go to when the treasurer changes every year?
Pay buttons only work once a Stripe account is connected, and the money goes to that account's bank. Set it up in the club's name with the club's bank details, not a committee member's, so it survives the next AGM.
Can we use a poll for the AGM vote?
A poll page is good for choosing a training night or a fundraiser date, with results as live bars. A formal vote is another matter, so follow your constitution and any local rules on how it has to run.
