Programmable Page for Chrome
Screenshot a bill, an event, a product or a menu, or read a page's text, say what it is, and get a page you can send: an invoice with a Pay button, an event with add-to-calendar, a product page.
How it works
- Press
Alt+Shift+P(Option+Shift+Pon a Mac) and drag over what you want, or open the extension's button for what's on screen, the whole page or the page's text. Right-click an image, some selected text or the page to choose what it is as you go. - programmable.page opens with it. Pick what it is (bill, receipt, event, product, menu…) and add a note if you like.
- Press Make page. If you've added that ready-made template, it fills in from the picture instantly; otherwise the page is written from it.
Install
The extension isn't on the Chrome Web Store yet. Until it is:
- Download the extension and unzip it.
- Open
chrome://extensionsand turn on Developer mode (top right). - Choose Load unpacked and select the unzipped folder.
- Pin it from the puzzle-piece menu so its button is always there.
PDFs and Chrome's own pages
Chrome doesn't let extensions scroll a PDF or read its text, so capture a PDF a page at a time with What's on screen or by dragging an area, up to three pictures. Chrome's own pages and the Web Store can't be captured at all, so the button offers to add a picture from your computer instead.
Works in Chrome 116 or later, and in Edge, Brave and Arc.
No extension? Text or email it
Pictures work everywhere you can ask for a page: text a screenshot to your workspace's number, email it as an attachment, or paste it on the capture screen in the app.
Privacy
The extension takes a screenshot only when you ask, talks only to programmable.page, and keeps nothing once it's delivered, or for more than a day if it isn't. Read the extension's privacy page.
