A feedback form to send after a job
Ask while the job is fresh and people still remember the details. This page takes a star rating, optional yes-or-no questions and a comment, and sends them to you. Afterwards every customer sees your public review link, whatever they rated, which keeps you within Google's rules.
When to use it
- A job has just finished and you'd like to know how it really went.
- A new team member is out on their own and you want a read on them.
- Something went wrong and you'd like to hear it directly.
- You want to spot repeat problems, like late arrivals, across many visits.
What a good one includes
- The job it refers to, so the customer knows which visit you mean.
- One or two specific yes-or-no questions, such as 'was everything left tidy?'.
- A free text box. The reason behind a score is more useful than the score.
- A short, truthful intro about why you're asking.
- A name field that's optional, so people can be frank.
Make one by saying what you need
Text it, type it or say it, the way you'd tell a colleague:
Feedback request for Mrs Alvarez after her gutter clean with Skyline Roofing, ask if we arrived on time and cleaned up.
Questions
Can I ask only happy customers for a Google review?
No. Google's policy says not to discourage negative reviews or selectively solicit positive ones. Ask everyone in the same way.
Can I offer a discount for a review?
Not for Google reviews, which prohibit incentives. Consumer protection rules in many countries also restrict paid or incentivised reviews.
What should I do with a low rating?
Reply quickly and try to fix it. The page tells the customer someone will be in touch, so that person needs to be you.
