An instant estimate calculator for your prices

People often want a rough number before they'll talk to anyone. This page asks a few one-at-a-time questions, then shows a price range built from your own base price and the amount each answer adds. Anyone who wants a firm quote leaves their details, and you get their answers along with them.

When to use it

  • You spend evenings answering 'roughly how much?' for bathrooms, fences or driveways.
  • Your work prices by a handful of known factors, like size and finish.
  • You want to warn off people whose budget won't stretch, before a site visit.
  • A social post or van sign could offer something more useful than 'call us'.

What a good one includes

  • Three to five questions. Every extra one is another chance to give up.
  • A base price that reflects your smallest real job.
  • Options that match how you price, each with the dollars it adds.
  • A spread wide enough to be honest. The page shows the total, give or take the percentage you set.
  • A note saying the range is a guide, and what a firm price depends on.

Make one by saying what you need

Text it, type it or say it, the way you'd tell a colleague:

Estimate for fence installs at Boundary Fencing: from $800, length under 50 ft, 50 to 100 ft or over 100 ft, wood or vinyl, gate or no gate.

Worth knowing. Each answer adds a fixed amount and can't multiply, so a premium material won't scale with length. Pad your options to cover that, or use a wider spread. By default you only hear from people who ask for a firm quote. Turn on the contact step to collect details before the range shows, but expect some to leave.

Questions

Is an online estimate binding?

It shouldn't be if you label it clearly as a guide and confirm a price later. Consumer rules on misleading prices can still apply, so keep the ranges realistic.

Should I ask for an email before showing the price?

You can do either. Asking first collects more contacts, and showing it first builds more trust, so try whichever suits how you sell.

What do I get when someone asks for a quote?

Their name, phone or email, the range they saw and each answer they chose.
