A live poll with results as people vote
A poll settles small questions quickly, without a long group chat. This page asks one question, offers a few options, and shows results as bars, either straight away or after someone has voted. Switch on 'Count replies on the page' and the votes add up by themselves.
When to use it
- A class needs to pick an evening that suits most people.
- A speaker wants a show of hands from a room, with the code up on a slide.
- A cafe wants customers to vote on next month's special.
- A club wants to choose a date for the summer social.
What a good one includes
- One clear question, which is all the page is built for.
- Options that don't overlap, so people know which one fits.
- An 'other' or 'none of these' option if you really don't know the range.
- A closing date, after which the page shows the final result.
- A line saying what you'll do with the outcome, like 'we'll go with the most popular'.
Make one by saying what you need
Text it, type it or say it, the way you'd tell a colleague:
Poll for Sunrise Pilates members: which new class time do you want, Monday 6am, Wednesday noon or Saturday 8am, closes Friday.
Questions
Why aren't the results showing?
Switch reply counting on for this poll. Without it votes still reach you, but the page can't add them up.
Can people vote anonymously?
Yes, unless you ask for a name. Asking for one is optional, and they can leave it blank.
Can I ask several questions?
One per poll. For more, send a page per question, or describe a survey and have it written for you.
